On December 7, 11 professionals with the Center for Democracy and Election Management Group at American University visited the OAS.  They received a tour of the Historic OAS Main Building with Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations.  Steven Griner, Chief, Electoral Missions, Department of Electoral Cooperation and Observation, Secretariat for Political Affairs gave an overview on the Organization, discussed his work and experiences in electoral monitoring and included a Q & A session with the group.

On November 24, 10 U.S. State Department Interns and one Intern from the Children’s Rights Council visited the OAS. They were escorted on a tour of the OAS Historic Main Building and given an overview of the Organization by Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations. Nelly Robinson, MOAS Coordinator, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, spoke to them about the MOAS Program. The visit concluded with a guided tour of the Art Museum with Adriana Ospina, Docent, Art Museum of the Americas, Department of Cultural Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations.

On November 20, 4 students from George Washington University were given a tour of the building by Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations. Sherry Stephenson, Head, Institutional Relations, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations gave an overview of the Organization with a Q & A session. Nelly Robinson, MOAS Coordinator, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, spoke to them about the MOAS Program. The visit was concluded with a guided tour of the Art Museum by Adriana Ospina, Docent, Art Museum of the Americas, Department of Cultural Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations.

On November 19, 15 Guatemalan students from La Licenciatura de Relaciones Internacionales y Ciencias Políticas de Guatemala were given a guided tour of the OAS Historic Main Building by Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External. Ambassador Skinner-Klee, Permanent Representative of Guatemala to the OAS, gave the group an overview and a Q & A session. The group then attended the XX OAS Policy Round Table: Promoting Democracy and Interregional Cooperation.

On November 17, the OAS received a visit of 8 Palestinian journalists with the U.N. Washington Media Program. Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External took the group on a tour of the Historic OAS Main Building. Sherry Stephenson, Head, Institutional Relations, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, gave an overview of the Organization and concluded with a Q & A session with the journalist.

On November 13, 20 students from the University of Northern Florida visited the OAS. The students were welcomed and escorted on a tour of the Historic Main Building by Víctor Febre, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations. Irene Klinger, Director, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, gave the students an overview of the OAS. Ambassador W Lewis Amselem, U.S. Representative to the OAS and Minister Luis Javier Campuzano Piña, Permanent Representative of Mexico to the OAS, outlined the role of their respective countries as Permanent Members to the Organization of American States.
 

On November 12, 10 interns from the U.S. Trade & Commerce Department were escorted on a tour of the Historic Main Building by Víctor Febre, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations.

On November 12, 40 Brandeis University National Committee Professional Women visited the OAS Historic Main Building. Víctor Febre, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, escorted the group on a tour of the building. Sherry Stephenson, Head, Institutional Relations, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, gave the group an overview of the OAS. The visit culminated with a guided visit to the Art Museum with Adriana Ospina, Docent, Art Museum of the Americas, Department of Cultural Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations.

On November 10, the OAS received 25 college students & 5 professors from the Ministry of Panama. Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External, escorted the group on a guided tour of the Historic OAS Main Building. Jorge Sanin, Head, Relations with Permanent Observer Countries & Civil Society, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations gave an overview of the OAS. Ambassador Guillermo Cochez, Permanent Representative of Panamá to the OAS, welcomed the group and discussed the role of the OAS and included a Q & A session with the students.  Nelly Robinson, Coordinator MOAS, explained the MODEL OAS Program and invited the students to participate.

On November 9, 46 participants of the Washington Center for Internships were escorted on a tour of the OAS Historic Main Building and given and overview on the Organization by Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations. Alexandra Barrantes, Specialist, Executive Secretariat for Integral Development, spoke to the group about Human Development and Prosperity. The visit was concluded by Nelly Robinson, MOAS Coordinator, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, outlining the MOAS Program.

On November 6, 17 participants of Alianza de Mesas Redondas Panamericanas received a tour of the Historic OAS Main Building with Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations.

On November 6, 15 Foreign Service Institute professionals visited the OAS. Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations gave the group a tour of the Historic Main Building. On November 5, 25 Bloomsburg University students visited the OAS. The students received a tour of the OAS Main Building by Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations. An overview on the OAS was given by Sherry Stephenson, Head, Institutional Relations, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations.

On November 3, 50 middle school students from Academia Interamericana de Panamá visited the OAS Historic Main Building. Ambassador Guillermo Alberto Cochez, Permanent Representative of Panama to the OAS, welcomed the group in the Simón Bolivar Room and spoke about the OAS and outlined the role of Panama as a Permanent Member to the Organization of American States. Afterwards, the students were given a tour of the building by Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations.

On November 3, 25 members of World Artists Experience participated in an all day workshop at the Art Museum of the Americas. Included in the program was a visit to the Historic OAS Main Building. Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, escorted the group on a tour of the building and then proceeded to the Miranda Room where the group received an overview of the organization.

On November 2, the OAS received 9 graduate students from American University’s College of Law. The students were greeted and escorted on a tour of the Historic OAS Main Building by Aline Hommes, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations. Irene Klinger, Director, Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations welcomed the students and gave them an overview on the Organization. The program concluded with Lisl Brunner, Human Rights Specialist, Inter-American Commission on Human Right, outlining the work and functions of the Human Rights Commission.
