Actions against Corruption

Public opinion surveys show a correlation between corruption and the lack of confidence many citizens have in their governments. Besides undermining trust on governmental institutions and politicians, corruption also affects citizens economically. Fighting corruption is a key aspect of the democratic exercise of power demanded under the Inter-American Democratic Charter, and thus, is a priority issue for all OAS member states.
