On
April 29, the OAS received 25 high school students from North Warren
High School. Andrea Asin, Intern, Department of International Affairs,
escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building. Nelly Robinson,
MOAS Program Coordinator, welcomed them and gave an overview of the
organization and the MOAS Program.
On April 21, the OAS received 33 Senior Adults from Keese School of Continuing Education. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building. Sherry Stephenson, Head Institutional Relations Department of International Affairs, welcomed them and gave an overview of the organization. At the end of the visit, Adriana Ospina, Education Coordinator, walked them through the Art Museum of the Americas, where they were able to appreciate the magical Art of the Americas.
On April 19, the OAS received 13 Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Specialists who are part of The U.S. State Department International Visitor Leadership Program. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building; followed by a specialized briefing on Multidimensional Security provided by Mr. Rafael Franzini, Assistant Executive Secretary, Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD), Mr. Cristian Taboada, Specialist, Department of Public Security; and Mr. Alejandro Diaz de Leon, Program Manager, Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism (CICTE).

April 18, the OAS received 10 graduate students from Penn State
University. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International Affairs,
escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building.
On
April 15, the OAS received 22 high school students from Granville High
School. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International Affairs,
escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building.
On
April 14, the OAS received 15 High School Students from Antigua &
Barbuda and Jamaica who were part of the Youth Ambassadors Program. Betty
Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, escorted them on a
tour through the Historical OAS Building. Ambassador Gillian Bristol, Chair
of the OAS Permanent Council and Permanent Representative of Grenada to the
OAS, welcomed the group to the protocolary meeting of the Permanent Council
to commemorate the Pan American Day and the Anniversary of the signature of
the OAS Charter.
On
April 12, the OAS received 16 students from the Lake George High School.

and the MOAS.
On April 11, the OAS received 30 graduate Mexican students from The Washington Center. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building. Dr. Irene Klinger, Director of the Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, welcomed them and gave an overview of the organization.
On
April 6, the OAS received 30 Spouses of French Diplomats who are members
of the Washington Accueil Association (WAA). Betty Arevalo, Specialist,
Department of International Affairs, escorted them on a guided tour through
the Historical OAS Main Building.
Dr. Irene Klinger, Director of the Department of International Affairs,
welcomed them and gave an overview of the organization. Ambassador
Pierre-Henri Guignard of France approached the group and explained the role
of France as an observer country to the OAS, as well as hemispheric issues.
At the end of the visit, Adriana Ospina, Education Coordinator, walked them
through the Art Museum of the Americas, where they were able to appreciate
the magical Art of the Americas.
On
March 30, the OAS received 55 executives from Nextel International.
Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, escorted
them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building. Irene Klinger, Director,
Department of International Affairs, welcomed them and gave an overview of
the organization. Clovis J. Baptista, Executive Secretary, Inter-American
Telecommunication Commission gave and specialized briefing on
Telecommunications.
On
March 25, the OAS received 40 members of the Washington Area Model
United Nations Conference (WAMUNC). Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of
International Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS
Building. Luis Consuegra, Specialist, MOAS Program, Department of
International Affairs, welcomed them and gave an overview of the
organization and the MOAS program.
On
March 24, the OAS received 44 exchange students from various countries
participating in the Rotary International Youth Exchange District 7430.

March 23, the OAS received 40 students of American University and 6
Students from University of San Diego California. Betty Arevalo, Specialist,
Department of International Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the
Historical OAS Building. Amb. Albert Ramdin, OAS Assistant Secretary
General, welcomed them and gave an overview of the organization.
On
March 22, the OAS received 60 graduate students from Stanford Graduate
School of Business. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International
Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building. Irene
Klinger, Director of the Department of International Affairs, welcomed the
group. Jose M. Insulza, OAS Secretary General, gave an overview of the
organization and opened the floor for an answer and question session.
On
March 18, 45 Students from Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School
visited the OAS. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International
Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building.
On
March 11, 15 students from Holton-Arms School visited the OAS. Betty
Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, escorted them on a
tour through the Historical OAS Building. Richard Huber, Principal
Environmental Specialist, Department of Sustainable Development, gave a
presentation on Sustainable Development. Juliana Bedoya, Focal Point on
Youth, Department of Human Development Education and Culture, addressed a
presentation on Youth. At the end of the visit, Adriana Ospina, Education
Coordinator, walked them through the Art Museum of the Americas, where they
were able to appreciate the magical Art of the Americas.
On
March 10, the OAS received 27 undergraduate students from Penn State,
The Behrend College. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International
Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building. The
tour was followed by an overview of the OAS presented by Sherry Stephenson,
Head Institutional Relations, Department of International Affairs,
Secretariat for External Relations.
On
March 4, 10 US diplomats from the Foreign Service Institute visited the
OAS. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International Affairs,
escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building.
On
March 4, the OAS received 38 high school students from South America
participating in the Youth Ambassadors Program - Partners of the Americas.

Program Coordinator, concluded the session by outlining the Model OAS.
On
February 24, the OAS received 40 high school students from Partners of
the Americas - Youth Ambassadors Program. Betty Arevalo, Specialist,
Department of International Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the
Historical OAS Building. Pablo Zuñiga, Deputy Director, Department for
Effective Public Management, Secretariat for Political Affairs, welcomed
them and gave an overview of the organization.
On February 18, the OAS received 40 students from Georgetown University Global Competitiveness Leadership Program (GCL). Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building. Irene Klinger, Director Department of International Affairs welcomed the group followed by the presentation of the Secretary General, Jose Miguel Insulza, who gave an overview of the organization and opened the floor for an answer and question session.

February 18, the OAS received 14 Diplomats from the US State Department.

the organization. The group concluded their visit with a visit to the Art
Museum of the Americas.

February 17, 90 OAS Interns enjoyed a tour of the Historical OAS Main
Building headed by Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International
Affairs. Adriana Ospina, Docent, Art Museum of the Americas, welcomed the
interns and led them on a tour of the current exposition at the Art Museum
of the Americas. where they were able to appreciate the magical Art of the
Americas.
On
February 14, the OAS received 10 students from American University
Washington College of Law. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of
International Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS
Building. Sherry Stephenson, Head Institutional Relations Department of
International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, welcomed them and
gave an overview of the organization.
On
February 10, the OAS received 35 Participants from the American Foreign
Service Association. Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International
Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical OAS Building. Sherry

Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations, welcomed them and gave an
overview of the organization.
On
January 31, the OAS received 40 Military Officers from the Canadian
Forces College (CFC). Betty Arevalo, Specialist, Department of International
Affairs, escorted them on a tour through the Historical Main Building.
Abraham Stein, Deputy Secretary, Secretariat for Multidimensional Security
gave a specialized briefing on security. Ambassador Allan Culham, Permanent
Representative of Canada to the OAS spoke on the role and functions of the
Permanent Mission of Canada to the OAS concluding with the session.
