Recent Suspensions of Guarantees regarding Multilateral Treaties

The following page describes actions taken during the past months regarding multilateral treaties.

On January 16, 2025, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. MPOEA - OEA-006/2025 with its respective appendix.    

On January 8, 2025, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Chile to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 01-25.

On January 7, 2025, the General Secretariat received verbal notes on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/003, Note No. 7-5-M/004, Note No. 7-5-M/005 and Note No. 7-5-M/006 with its respective appendixes.

On January 3, 2025, the General Secretariat received a verbal note on the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Ecuador to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, nota No. 4-2-002/2025 with its respective appendix.

On December 27, 2024, the General Secretariat received verbal notes on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/245, Note No. 7-5-M/246 and Note No. 7-5-M/247 with its respective appendixes.

On December 23, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. MPOEA - OEA-191/2024 with its respective appendix.   

On December 12, 2024, the General Secretariat received verbal notes on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/237, Note No. 7-5-M/238 and Note No. 7-5-M/239 with its respective appendixes.

On December 11, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/235 with its respective appendix.

On November 18, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. MPOEA - OEA-181/2024 with its respective appendix.  

On November 9, 2024, the General Secretariat received verbal notes on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/217, Note No. 7-5-M/218 and Note No. 7-5-M/219 with its respective appendixes.

On November 6, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Chile to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 236-24.

On November 1, 2024, the General Secretariat received verbal notes on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/209 and Note No. 7-5-M/210 with its respective appendixes.

On October 25, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/206 with its respective appendix.     

On October 21, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. MPOEA - OEA-166/2024 with its respective appendix. 

On October 11, 2024, the General Secretariat received verbal notes on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/193,  Note No. 7-5-M/194,  Note No. 7-5-M/195 and Note No. 7-5-M/196 with its respective appendixes.

On  September 12, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Chile to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 207-24.

On September 9, 2024, the General Secretariat received verbal notes on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/170,  Note No. 7-5-M/171,  and Note No. 7-5-M/172 with its respective appendixes.

On September 5, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/169 with its respective appendix.

On August 22, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. MPOEA - OEA-138/2024 with its respective appendix.

On August 12, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note on the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Ecuador to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, nota No. 4-2-160/2024 with its respective appendix.

On July 19, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. MPOEA - OEA-124/2024 with its respective appendix. 

On July 15, 2024, the General Secretariat received verbal notes on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/127,  Note No. 7-5-M/128 and Note No. 7-5-M/129 with its respective appendixes.    

On July 9, 2024, the General Secretariat received verbal notes on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/125 and Note No. 7-5-M/126 with its respective appendixes.   

On  July 8, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Chile to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 160-24.

On May 25, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. MPOEA - OEA-102/2024 with its respective appendix.

On  May 3, 2024, the General Secretariat received two verbal notes notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Chile to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 109-24 and Note No. 110-24 .

On March 8, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note on the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Ecuador to the OAS, in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, nota No. 4-2-051/2024 with its respective appendix.

On February 14, 2024, the General Secretariat received verbal notes on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/033 and Note No. 7-5-M/034 with its respective appendixes.

On  February 7, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note on actions taken within the framework of the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Note No. 7-5-M/030 with its respective appendix.

On January 18, 2024, the General Secretariat received a verbal note notifying the suspension of guaranties from the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3 of the American Convention on Human Rights, verbal note No. 7-5-M/011 with its respective appendixes (Decreto Supremo N° 050-2023-PCM; Decreto Supremo N° 073-2023-PCM; Decreto Supremo N° 074-2023-PCM; Decreto Supremo N° 114-2023-PCM; Decreto Supremo N° 125-2023-PCM).
