The Department of International Law fulfills, along
with other functions, the following mandates:

Advises
the organs, agencies and entities of the OAS,
•
Promotes the
development of international law; and
•
Acts as
official depository of inter-American treaties.
June 19, 2013 - OAS General Assembly passes Conventions against Racism and Discrimination .
June 18, 2013 - Fifth Conference on Arbitration in Latin America, a success story co-sponsored by the Department of International Law .
May 10, 2013 - “Indigenous Perspectives” Photography Competition organized by the Departament of International Law (OAS) and AMA | Art Museum of the Americas.
April 17, 2013 - The Department of International Law initiates collaboration with the United Nations and other Organizations on Secured Transactions Reform.
April 11, 2013 - Inter-American Juridical Committee Presents Annual Report to Committee on Juridical and Political Affairs.
March 21, 2013 - International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
March 15, 2013 - Inter-American Juridical Committee (IAJC) closed its 82nd regular session.
January 17, 2013 - Course on International Refugee Law (CAJP, 2013).
November 27, 2012 - Colombia denounces the "Pact of Bogotá".
November 14, 2012 - The Department of International Law launched its new brochure.
