The members of the Western Hemisphere Migratory Species Initiative (WHMSI) Steering Committee (SC) met in Washington D.C. at the Organization of American States headquarters to discuss progress after the 4th WHMSI Conference held in Miami, FL in December 2010 and discuss plans for 2013 and beyond.
The meeting gathered governmental wildlife officials, representatives of International Conventions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and private philanthropy all interested in fostering international dialogue and cooperation on migratory species conservation. The WHMSI SC Meeting included:
