Gender mainstreaming implies a process of determining the implications for women and men of any planned action, including legislation, policies and programs in all areas and at all levels.
The Department of Sustainable Development (DSD) is working diligently in engaging women in decision-making processes in sustainable development initiatives, trainings, and public fora. Furthermore, these regional capacity-building initiatives are promoting gender equality, diversity, and inclusion. All DSD policy recommendations issued is also responsive to issues of gender linked to sustainable development
