Immigration Regulations
Section IV of the Trafficking in Persons Act- Assistance to and protection of Victims of Trafficking- addresses matters such as the issuing of work permits and new identity documents establishing identity, Witness protection programmes, housing, medical and educational training, and legal assistance are also included within the Act. The Immigration Division of Trinidad and TObago screens irregular/illegal migrats to determine wheter or not they are possible victims of trafficking. Further, Inmmigration officers are trained and sesitized on trafficking in persons.
