 The ITEN Teacher Resource Center

The Resource Center is an initiative of the Inter-American Teacher Education Network (ITEN). The ITEN Teacher Resource Center is a space for teachers to share lesson plans and teaching practices using technology. Both types of resources are designed by teachers across the Americas. Because they are catalogued as Open Educational Resources (OERs), anyone can legally and freely copy, use, adapt and re-share them.

Through previous ITEN project activities, teachers have expressed a clear desire to share lesson plans with each other as a means of learning new ways to improve their teaching. Collected through ITEN's professional development activities such as its Massive, Open Online Courses (MOOC) and directly at the ITEN Teacher Resource Center, the lesson plans are curated by an education expert to highlight effective teaching practices. ITEN has also included in the Resource Center teaching practices using mobile devices to help teachers take advantage of the rise in mobile technology in more effective ways.

ITEN recognizes that teachers must be at the forefront of innovation and learning. By offering this Teacher Resource Center, we hope to provide teachers the opportunity to share their own knowledge and inspire each other to improve the quality of their practice.

The Inter-American Teacher Education Network is an initiative of the Organization of American States, which offers teachers and policymakers knowledge exchange, capacity building and technical assistance opportunities in the field of teacher education and professional development. Learn more about us here
