6. Criminal Justice System Personnel & Capacity
6.3.1b.x Professional Judges or Magistrates (Females, percentage)
Represents the total number of Female professional Judges or Magistrates, as a PERCENTAGE of the total number of professional Judges or Magistrates (Males & Females).
It is calculated as follows: Percentage of Female professional Judges or Magistrates (WJ) = (TNJw/TNJ)*100; where TNJw is the total number of Female Judges or Magistrates, and TNJ is the total number of Judges or Magistrates (Males & Females).
“PROFESSIONAL JUDGES OR MAGISTRATES” means both full-time and part-time professionals as at December 31 authorized to hear specifically criminal cases, including in appeal courts, and to make dispositions in a court of law. Please also include authorized associate judges and magistrates.
