Working towards the improvement of statistics on crime and citizen security.
On September 3rd and 4th the workshop "Working towards the improvement of statistics on crime and citizen security" was organized in Lima, Peru. The workshop's purpose was to trigger a discussion on the quality of public security statistics based on national and regional experiences, about the quality of the surveys regarding public security. As Peru embarks itself in the development of an Integrated System of Crime and Citizen Security Statistics (SIESC, by its Spanish acronym), the workshop aimed at strengthening its technical capacities for generating reliable data and statistics.
