Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

The OAS has discussed for several years the real estate issue, the funding required for maintenance and repairs, as well as the deferred maintenance of its historic buildings. Scholarships are not awarded to study at universities in the applicant’s sponsoring country.
Study Modality: Onsite, Online or a combination of both. Applications for scholarships for online studies shall be prioritized at the time of scholarships selection.
Scholarships are awarded for a minimum period of one (1) academic year and a maximum period of two (2) academic years.
OAS Scholarship Recipients must return and remain in the sponsoring country for a period of noless than twenty four (24) months after completing the program of study. OAS Scholarship recipients pursuing online studies must agree to remain in the sponsoring country for the same period of time.
The studies in the Medical Sciences and the learning of new languages are excluded from the Academic Program.
OAS Staff members, OAS Consultants, Staff members of the Permanent Missions to the OAS, and their relatives are eligible to apply for an Academic Scholarship after six months from the termination of their employment relationship or contract.
Copy of the diploma for the highest degree obtained. (Bachelor's or Master)
Copy of transcripts of the grades for the highest academic degree completed or to be completed (Bachelor’s, Master’s, and/or PhD). If currently enrolled in a program of study, please submit the current transcript.
If unemployed or never employed, include a letter from a professor or someone who can be considered providing reference of your qualities as a student or professional (using the Recommendation Statement Form).
Copy of the Official Identification Card (ID) – Government issued ID by the Sponsoring Country or Passport.

OAS Academic Scholarships are complementary in nature, and do not intend to cover 100% of the Scholarship Recipient’s expenses. Scholarships have a monetary cap up to US $10,000 per academic year. Benefits may cover the following benefits in this order of priority:

The OAS will not consider incomplete applications. Be sure to upload all documents and forms required by the OAS to the online application.
STEP 2
After you submit the online application, you will receive an email from the OAS with a copy of the application you filled out in PDF format. SEND the application and all the required documents to the ONE in your country.
The ONE will conduct an in-country pre-selection of candidates, therefore, make sure to obtain information on how the ONE is conducting the reception of application process, so that you cansend them all documents required by the OAS and the ONE.
The OAS acts as National Liaison Office for the following countries: United States and Venezuela. Applicants from those countries only need to fill out the online forms and the OAS will conduct the pre-selection process. The deadline to submit online applications is April 5, 2024.
Haitian citizens do not need to submit their paper application packages to the ONE in Port-au-Prince. The OAS will conduct a pre-selection process at OAS headquarters. The deadline to submit applications is April 12th, 2024
he OAS will convene a selection committee to conduct the final selection at OAS Headquarters.

Pre-selected candidates must be already enrolled in the program of study or have an unconditional admission letter to the university to begin studies between January and December 2024.

The OAS will publish the selection results of awardees on our website www.oas.org/en/scholarships in June 2024.
Disbursement of funds for the first academic year shall take place during the second semester of of 2024.
