Located in the heart of the Caribbean, Antigua and Barbuda consist of two major inhabited islands and a number of smaller islands. The country is divided into six parishes and two dependencies that, despite the title, are integral part of the State.

Antigua and Barbuda is 442,6 square km, 2,5 times the size of Washington, DC. The estimated population is 91.295 (July 2014) and the largest city is the Capital, Saint John´s with a population of 21.000 (2011). Ethnically, Antigua and Barbuda is predominantly comprised of African descent (91%). According to the 2001 census, 4,4% of the population is mixed, 1,7% white and 2.9% others. The predominant religion in the country is Protestant (76,4% ), followed by Roman Catholic (10.4%). The official language is English.
