Reforms of OAS legal instruments: Situation of women

In April 1998, the Inter-American Judicial Committee (CJI) approved a legal opinion in response to a request from the Permanent Council regarding the Situation of women in the Americas, resolution CP/RES. 719 (1151/98).

The following is the legal opinion of the CJI, document CJI/doc.30/98 rev.2, together with the resolution approving it, CJI/RES.2/LII/98 rev.1, as well as the reasoned votes of Dr. Luis Herrera Marcano and Dr. Keitth Highet.
