November 1 - 2, 2010, Mexico D.F.
The Department of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism of the Organization of
American States (OAS), in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, organized the Dialogue “Public Policies
to Enhance the Competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs),”
held in Mexico City, November 1-2, 2010.
This Dialogue took place in the framework of Mexico’s National Week of SMEs,
which was held from November 1-5.
The purpose of this meeting, funded by the Canadian International Development
Agency (CIDA), was to promote a regional high-level dialogue on MSMEs
competitiveness enhancement policies, and to encourage the exchange of
successful experiences and best practices to strengthen the competitiveness of
this sector. To achieve this objective, we invited Ministers and Vice Ministers
of Economy and authorities responsible for the portfolio of MSMEs in Latin
America and the Caribbean, as well as entities that promote MSMEs innovation and
internationalization policies designed for micro, small and medium enterprises.
