Welcome to the Leo S. Rowe Supplementary Scholarship: A
US $2,000 Opportunity!
Thanks to a generous donation from the U.S. Permanent Mission to the OAS, the Rowe Fund program is thrilled to offer the Leo S. Rowe Supplementary Scholarship to deserving Latin American and Caribbean students (F/J visa holders) currently enrolled at universities in the United States.
This supplementary scholarship provides an additional USD $2,000, which serves to offset the cost of tuition and living expenses of Latin American and Caribbean students who are completing their studies in the United States.
Fields of Study:
Applications for the supplementary scholarship are accepted in various fields of study,
with priority given to STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) and environmental science.
Medical fields, aviation, business administration, and legal study programs are excluded.
Eligibility:
The supplementary scholarship is available to international students who are in their last two years of undergraduate
master's or doctorate studies at an accredited university in the United States.
Applicants must be eligible for and simultaneously applying for a Rowe Fund interest-free loan.
Both the loan application and the supplementary scholarship application will be
reviewed together. Please note that only one scholarship may be granted per student, even if the student qualifies for multiple interest-free loans.
Awards will be based on financial need, academic achievement, and the desire to contribute to the development of the Latin American and Caribbean region.
It is important to note that eligibility for a Rowe Fund interest-free loan does not guarantee receipt of the Leo S. Rowe supplementary scholarship.
How to Apply:
The supplementary scholarship is pegged to the
application for a Rowe Fund interest-free loan. As part of the application process, prospective applicants are required to complete the
scholarship application form, which includes submitting a statement of educational and career goals, as well as any unique personal or family circumstances.
Interest-free loan(s) and supplementary scholarship
applications are submitted directly to the Rowe Fund Secretariat through the
online platform. Only complete applications will be evaluated.
Application Deadline:
The program accepts applications year-round without any
specific deadline. However, there is a monthly cutoff on the fifth day of
each month. To be considered for a specific month, please ensure that all
application forms and supporting documents are uploaded on the online platform
by the 5th of your desired month.
The Rowe Fund Committee eagerly awaits the opportunity to review your application and support you on your educational journey!
