Haiti and Jamaica agree to Receive On-Site Visits by the OAS Anticorruption Mechanism

Haiti and Jamaica have joined the list of States Parties to the Mechanism for Follow-up on Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESICIC) that have given their consent to receive on-site visits as part of the review process that the Mechanism is to carry out as part of its Fourth Round as of 2012.
Through their Permanent Missions to the OAS, these two states formally notified the MESICIC Technical Secretariat of this decision in accordance with the Methodology for Conducting On-site Visits adopted by the Mechanism’s Committee of Experts in March 2011, which, in addition to regulating the way in which states are to indicate their consent, contains the provisions necessary for attaining its goals.
The MESICIC Technical Secretariat has received the consent of 29 States Parties: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
