Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

CITEL of the OAS and CERTAL to Host Summit on Regulation and Freedom of Expression

The Inter-American Telecommunications Commission (CITEL) of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Center for the Study of Regulations in Telecommunications in Latin America (CERTAL) are organizing Tuesday July 9th and Wednesday the 10th, the Summit of Regulation and Freedom of Expression of Regulatory Bodies of Latin America at the headquarters of the hemispheric institution in Washington, DC.
The event -which takes place within the framework of the XII annual meeting of CERTAL and starts Tuesday and Wednesday at 9:00 EDT (13:00 GTM) - will be inaugurated by OAS Secretary General, Luis Almagro, and will feature more than 20 speakers representing the telecommunications sector, human rights, executive, legislative, private sector, academic and civil society.
During the event, the regulation of media in different countries of Latin America and its implications will be discussed, as well as: the right of access to the Information Society; fight against piracy; defense of freedom of expression; democracy and social networks, justice and legislation, among other relevant issues.
