Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

The 52nd GELAVEX Meeting will be held on May 17 and 18, 2022 in Washington DC in virtual format and will be chaired by the Government of Mexico’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), attached to the Ministry of Finance. and Public Credit. During the event, the two working subgroups and the chair will discuss the following:
The GELAVEX is currently constituted as one of the advisory bodies of the OAS, with Technical Secretariat services provided by the Department against Transnational Organized Crime (DTOC), in accordance with the provisions of Executive Order 16-01 Rev. 1 issued by the Secretary General of the OAS in July 2016, and which established the DTOC.
The GELAVEX is made up of two Working Subgroups: One on International Cooperation and Confiscation; and one on Coordination between Financial Intelligence Units (FIU) and Criminal Investigation Organizations (CIO).

Working Subgroup on Confiscation and International Cooperation:
1 Study of best practices in the coordination between the authorities for confiscation in cases of money laundering linked to illicit arms trafficking, and their appropriate disposal.
2 Guide to Identification and Investigation Techniques in Money Laundering Cases related to Political Corruption.
3 Regional diagnosis of the state of the fight against money laundering derived from cybercrimes in the member countries of the OAS.
Present the progress of the products in accordance with the approved Work Plan and the recommendations agreed upon at the 51st Meeting of GELAVEX, held from Mexico City, on November 16 and 17, 2021, as well as discussion and deliberation on the draft Rules of Procedure for the GELAVEX, presented by the Chair, currently held by the distinguished delegation of Mexico.
