OAS Secretary General Sends Condolences to Venezuela for Flood Victims

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today stood by the Government of Venezuela in the aftermath of recent floods.

In a letter to President Hugo Chávez, the head of the OAS sent “our most heartfelt condolences and show of support for the victims” of torrential floods that have caused death and desolation in various Venezuelan cities.

“In the name of the OAS and my own, please receive our heartfelt condolences and share them with the people of Venezuela,” Secretary General Insulza said, adding that “the Organization is ready to collaborate with your government on whatever you may request of us.”
