Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS Assistant Secretary General Offers Condolences to Barbados

The Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS)Ambassador Albert R. Ramdin has described the death of Barbados Prime Minister David Thompson as an acute loss to the entire Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
Speaking to the media in a series of interviews following the passing of PM Thompson, the OAS Assistant Secretary General extended personal condolences. "I am deeply saddened and offer my sympathy first to his wife and children, and then to the people of Barbados and the Caribbean Community. We have lost a leader who was a true believer in regional integration and democracy, a man who worked tirelessly to address the social needs of the people."
The high-ranking OAS official pointed out that among CARICOM leaders, Prime Minister Thompson held the responsibility for monitoring the CARICOM Single Market and Economy initiative. "Prime Minister Thompson took this responsibility to heart. He played a very important role in deepening and strengthening the regional integration process."
Ambassador Ramdin described PM Thompson's style of intervention as calm, but decisive. "He would always ensure that his point was made. He presented clear, balanced arguments on the long-term benefits of working together as 15 nations of CARICOM. We have lost a committed regionalist who worked quietly to further the cause of the Caribbean people and the people of Barbados."
