Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS Prepares for First Hemispheric Model OAS in the English-Speaking Caribbean

The Organization of American States (OAS) through Assistant Secretary General Albert Ramdin, is currently in talks with the Caribbean nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, with a view to hosting a Hemispheric Model OAS, for the first time in the English speaking Caribbean.
The Model OAS is a student simulation of the political negotiation and dialogue within the Hemisphere’s premier political forum. For two days, students from tertiary level institutions represent diplomats and political officials from the countries of the Americas to debate issues of pressing concern. The event traditionally attracts hundreds of students, who represent the views of OAS member states.
Assistant Secretary General Ramdin highlighted that “This event has never taken place in the English-speaking Caribbean, so we are excited to see how this develops. CARICOM countries have a track record of producing outstanding students and world class leaders, so we are looking forward to engaging them and hearing the perspectives of this generation.”
During his visit to Saint Kitts and Nevis, Assistant Secretary General Ramdin held meetings with Prime Minister Denzil Douglas on current hemispheric issues. He also met with Foreign Minister Patrice Nisbett on the upcoming Summit of the Americas and the Americas Competitiveness Forum. Discussions were also held on potential technical cooperation to support competitiveness and productivity. The OAS official also met with Youth Minister Glenn Phillip on the upcoming Model OAS.
