Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

MAPAVI TO HONOR OAS SECRETARY GENERAL INSULZA FOR ROLE IN DEFENDING HUMAN RIGHTS AND DEMOCRACY

José Miguel Insulza, the Organisation of American States’ (OAS) Secretary General, is to be honored tomorrow for his positive role in defending freedom and justice for Latin American countries. The non-profit Marcelino Pan y Vino, Inc. (MAPAVI) is also recognizing the OAS leader for his role in supporting education, promoting democracy and helping deliver economic and other assistance to countries devastated by natural disasters.
MAPAVI will present Secretary General Insulza with the award during its annual gala event on Saturday, October 13, part of celebrations marking the Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States. The annual gala, which brings in more than 800 guests, will be held at Fairview Park Marriott Hotel in Falls Church, Virginia, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
In honoring Insulza with the award, MAPAVI is recognizing his role in leading the hemispheric organization’s programs that seek to promote better understanding and collaboration in regions of conflict and in providing effective solutions that have helped the neediest citizens of the Caribbean and Central and South America.
TELEMUNDO Network anchor María Antonieta Collins will serve as master of ceremonies for the evening’s affair, which features as well an arts and culture segment that includes a display of Andean folk culture, entitled “Fantasy of the Americas.” Guests include representatives of the White House and the United States Senate and House of Representatives, along with Washington area business leaders.
