OAS and Erasmus University Rotterdam offer Scholarships for Masters in Development Studies

The Organization of American States (OAS), in collaboration with Erasmus University Rotterdam in The Hague, Netherlands, is offering scholarship opportunities to qualified citizens or permanent residents of any OAS Member State accepted into the University’s Master of Arts in Development Studies program. The scholarships will cover 60% of tuition fees of each scholarship recipient admitted to the program, which is designed for those who wish to further their professional career or continue toward doctorate-level studies.
The scholarship is offered to qualified applicants as part of the Partnerships for Education and Training Program of the OAS, in collaboration with the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam. The Master of Arts in Development Studies offers the following areas of specialization: Agrarian and Environmental Studies; Economics of Development; Governance, Policy and Political Economy; Human Rights, Gender and Conflict Studies, and Social Policy for Development.
The program includes the study of the most recent theories and debates in the student’s major field of study and the ways this knowledge can be applied to practical issues of development and social change. This degree offers participants a strong and balanced academic and professional education, with a strong basis in contemporary theory and methods of development studies. Participants will study at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, the Netherlands.
The program lasts sixteen months, will be taught in English, and will begin on September 3rd, 2012.
