OAS Secretary General to Attend Inauguration of New Costa Rican President

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, will travel to Costa Rica tomorrow at the invitation of the country’s government to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Costa Rican President-Elect, Laura Chinchilla Miranda.

Secretary General Insulza will travel tomorrow from Washington, D.C., to San José, where he will participate in an official dinner for the transfer of power offered by outgoing President Óscar Arias to all authorities visiting the country.

On Saturday, May 8, he will attend the inauguration of new President Chinchilla and the swearing-in ceremony with all her Cabinet members.

The OAS Secretary General will return to Washington, D.C., on Saturday, May 8.
