OAS Secretary General Expresses Solidarity with Argentina over Flooding

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today expressed his solidarity and that of the organization he leads to Argentina over the severe floods that are affecting Buenos Aires and its province, and that have led to a high number of fatalities.

The leader of the OAS sent his condolences to the relatives of the deceased, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. He also expressed his hope that the difficulties caused by the vast material damage could be overcome quickly so that the affected citizens could soon return to their homes and resume their daily lives.

The Secretary General offered the support of the OAS in any way the Argentine authorities might deem appropriate.
