OAS and Costa Rican Legislative Assembly to Hold Workshop and Round Table on Corporate Social Responsibility

  December 6, 2010

The Organization of American States (OAS), jointly with the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Costa Rica, will hold a workshop and round table, titled, “Success Factors of a Socially Responsible Management,” on December 8 and 9, respectively, at 9:00 Costa Rica time (15:00 GMT) at Assembly headquarters in Av. Central and Primera, between 15th y 17th streets in San José, Costa Rica.

The workshops’ objective is to prioritize the values and principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and facilitate tools that can assist parliamentary management. The round table seeks to create an exchange of ideas among lawmakers and those stakeholders involved in the success of Social Responsibility strategies, with the objective of seeking consensus around the necessary social commitment to make progress on a more sustainable and equitable development.

The two events are part of the project, “Social Responsibility and Parliamentary Management,” in the OAS’s regional CSR initiative, through its Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) and its Department of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism, with the support of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

The meeting will be broadcast live on the OAS Website.
