OAS Hosts Event in Favor of a Landmine-free America

The Organization of American States (OAS), together with the Permanent Mission of Spain, is to hold the event, “For a Landmine-Free America” on Wednesday, December 8, at 12:00 EST (17:00 GMT) at Organization headquarters in Washington, DC.

The Secretary General of the OAS, José Miguel Insulza, will participate in the event, as well as Patrick Leahy, United States Senator international campaign advocate against the use of antipersonnel landmines; Ambassador Joaquin Maza, Chair of the Permanent Council of the OAS and Representative of El Salvador; Ambassador Javier Sancho, Permanent Observer of Spain; and Miguel Bosé, musician and founder of Paz Sin Fronteras.

Infanta Cristina of Spain will also be present at the event.
