OAS Organizes Regional Symposium on Cyber Security in Uruguay

The Organization of American States (OAS) will organize, starting on Monday, November 11 at 8:30 local time (10:30 GMT) until Wednesday, November 13, the “Regional Symposium on Cyber Security” in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Partnership for Cyber Resilience of the World Economic Forum (WEF), will bring together experts in information technology, government officials responsible for cyber security, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and other participants from more than 30 countries to discuss the development and implementation of national strategies; awareness campaigns; lessons learned, and other aspects of cyber security.
The opening ceremony of the symposium will feature the participation of Diego Cánepa, Viceminister of the Presidency of Uruguay; John Biehl del Río, OAS Representative in Uruguay; Julissa Reynoso, United States Ambassador in Uruguay; and José Clastornik, Executive Director of the Agency for Electronic Government and the Information Society of Uruguay.
