OAS Permanent Council to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, November 28 at 14:00 EST (19:00 GMT) in the Simon Bolivar room at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC, to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

The meeting will include the participation of:

• The Chair of the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM) and Minister of Women’s Affairs of Panama, Juana Herrera,

• The President of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention of Belém do Pará and Minister of Women and Gender Equity of Chile, Antonia Orellana,

• The chair of the Committee of Experts of the Mechanism to Follow up on the Implementation of the Convention of Belém do Pará (MESECVI), Marcela Huaita,

• The Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM) the Alejandra Mora Mora.
