Permanent Council to Discuss the Use of the Ocean as a Resource for Sustainable Economic Development

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold an special virtual meeting on Tuesday, December 7 at 11:00 EST (16:00 GMT) to discuss "the use of the ocean as a resource for sustainable economic development."

The meeting will include presentations by:

  • The Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of the Dominican Republic, Orlando Jorge Mera;
  • The Vice Minister in charge of Multilateral Affairs and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Panama, Ana Luisa Castro Novey; and
  • The Professor of Law and Emeritus Dean of American University, Washington College of Law, Member of the United Nations International Law Commission, Claudio Grossman.
