OAS Hosts Conference on Human Rights in Cuba

The Organization of American States will host, on Friday December 7, at 9:30 EST (14:30 GMT), a conference on the human rights situation in Cuba.

The event will be held at the headquarters of the Organization in Washington, DC, will be opened by the Secretary General of the OAS, and will include dialogues on the criminalization of freedom of expression in Cuba, as well as the situation of political prisoners and the accountability for repressors in the country.

Media interested in covering the event are asked to send an email with the identification of the media company they represent to [email protected]. The day of the event, journalists must show a credential of the media they represent and a personal identification.

The meeting will be broadcast live - with interpretation in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese- on the OAS Website and the OAS Facebook page.
