OAS and IOM to Host Course on the Key Challenges and Opportunities of International Migration

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) will organize on Monday, April 29, at the OAS headquarters in Washington, DC the course "Key challenges and opportunities of international migration."
The course's main objective is to inform and sensitize the representatives of the Member States, Observer States, officials of the OAS General Secretariat and the general public on basic trends, opportunities and challenges of international migration in the Americas.
The workshop will cover trends in international migration in the hemisphere, the challenges and opportunities of labor migration; migration and the millennium development goals and the post-2015 agenda; the links between migration and development and the social effects of remittances. The course will be taught by experts from the International Organization for Migration, the World Bank, the Multilateral Investment Fund of the Inter-American Development Bank, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Organization of American States.
This course is open to the general public. The press is invited to cover the event and participate in all sessions. The agenda is available here.
