Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS to Host Celebration of Cultural Diplomacy in the Americas

The Organization of American States (OAS) will host a round table and jazz concert under the theme ““Cultural Diplomacy for Realizing Social, Ethnic and Racial Equity, and Inclusive Governance,” on Tuesday, April 30 at 14:00 EDT (18:00 GMT) at the Art Museum of the Americas, in celebration of Pan American Day and International Jazz Day.
The event, organized by the Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) of the OAS, the United States Mission to the OAS and the Inter-American Committee on Culture, will feature welcoming remarks from the Executive Secretary for Integral Development of the OAS, Kim Osborne; an introduction by the Minister of Culture and Patrimony of Ecuador and Chair of the Inter-American Committee on Culture, Romina Muñoz Procel; a presentation by the Deputy Representative of the United States to the OAS, Thomas Hastings, titled “Setting the Context for Cultural Diplomacy in the Americas;” a panel discussion; and a jazz performance.
The following will participate in the panel discussion:
• Shirley Campbell Barr, poet, anthropologist, and Afro feminism advocate;
• José Rodolfo Contreras Carrión, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Guatemala;
• Pablo Zúñiga, former Director of the OAS Department for Strategic Initiatives and Public Diplomacy; and
• Madelka McCalla, Chief Corporate Affairs and Impact Officer at The AES Corporation.
The jazz concert will feature performances by Fran Vielma & Quartet.
