Each year the OAS Secretary General publishes a proposed Program-Budget for the coming calendar year. The OAS General Assembly meets in a Special Session to approve the Program-Budget. Find these documents from 1998-2013 here.
Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

EXECUTIVE SECRETARY OF ECLAC WILL SPEAK AT THE OAS ABOUT THE PRESENT AND FUTURE OF THE FINANCIAL CRISIS

During the Thirty-eight Lecture Series of the Americas that will take place this Monday, October 5, at the headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS), the Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Alicia Bárcena, will speak about the economic perspectives of the region, at an event entitled: “In Search of Solutions to the Financial Crisis: Measures Taken and Future Challenges.”
Alicia Bárcena assumed the ECLAC position in June, 2008. Previously, she had served as Deputy Executive Secretary of the same institution, as Under-Secretary General for Management at United Nations Headquarters, and as Deputy Chief of Cabinet.
Her extensive experience in international organizations included serving as Coordinator of the Latin American and Caribbean Sustainable Development Programme of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Coordinator of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), where she was responsible for the Environmental Citizenship Project.
Known for her contributions to the environmental and economic fields, Bárcena was the Founding Director of the Earth Council. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, completed the required course of study for a Master’s degree in Ecology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University.
The Thirty-eight Lecture Series of the Americas will be broadcast live at www.oas.org. The agenda of the event also includes remarks from the OAS Secretary General, José Miguel Insulza, and from Ambassador Luis Alfonso Hoyos, Chair of the Permanent Council of the OAS and Representative of Colombia before the OAS.
