NEXT OAS LECTURE TO FOCUS ON “CONFRONTING THE CHALLENGE OF THE GLOBAL FOOD CRISIS IN THE AMERICAS”

Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP) Josette Sheeran will keynote the twenty-ninth conference in the Organization of American States (OAS) Lecture Series of the Americas, which will be held on Tuesday, July 29, at 3:00 p.m., at the Organization’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The topic of the Lecture is “Confronting the Challenge of the Global Food Crisis in the Americas.”

A question-and-answer session follows Sheeran’s keynote presentation, which will be webcast live via the OAS website, (www.oas.org). Admission is free, and the members of public may register by sending an e-mail to [email protected] or fax (202-458-6319).

The Lecture Series of the Americas is an initiative of the OAS Department of International Relations, with support from the San Martin de Porres University in Lima, Peru, as well as the governments of the People’s Republic of China and France.
