OAS HOSTS MINISTERS OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS FOR MEETING OF CONSULTATIONS

  March 14, 2008

On Monday, March 17, the Organization of American States will host the Meeting of Consultation of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, pursuant to a Permanent Council resolution issued on March 5.

The Foreign Ministers will hold a private dialogue in the Simon Bolivar Room after which they will move to the Hall of the Americas to engage in the public debate portion of their Meeting of Consultation.

Media representatives planning to cover the event must produce credentials at the entrance to the OAS Main Building, located at 17th Street & Constitution Avenue, at 8:30 a.m. An accreditation team from the Press Department will be in the lobby area, to check IDs of journalists and issue them with a badge to cover the meeting.

Camera operators and photographers must enter the OAS Building using the C Street entrance—between 17th and 18th Streets—where they will pick up the appropriate credentials after presenting proof of working for a media organization.

Audio visual transmission services will be provided at the Multimedia Center (Main Building, Office B-120), beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday.

The event will be webcast live over the Internet, on the OAS website: www.oas.org.

Press conferences by the various delegations will be held in the Guerrero Room throughout the day.
