The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) José Miguel Insulza on Friday morning will receive the Belize and Guatemala ministers responsible for negotiations on the territorial dispute between the two countries.
The meeting was convened by the Secretary General to propose steps to be taken as discussions continue under the Agreement on a Framework for Negotiations and Confidence-Building Measures, signed by both countries at OAS headquarters in September 2005.
The meeting will be followed by a press conference offered by the Secretary General, Belizean Chief Negotiator and Ambassador with Ministerial Rank Assad Shoman and Guatemalan Foreign Affairs Minister Jorge Briz.
