Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS and the Mexican State of Nuevo León to Collaborate on Transparency and Accountability in Elections

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Office of the Special Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes of the State of Nuevo León, Mexico today signed a cooperation agreement to improve the transparency and accountability of the electoral processes of that state.
The Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, said that the objective of the agreement is to provide greater transparency and credibility to the electoral system of the state located in northern Mexico. “Having free, transparent and fair elections is an indispensable condition for citizens to trust democratic institutions. That is why we celebrate the signing of this agreement with the Office of the Special Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes of the State of Nuevo León, ”added Secretary General Almagro.
For his part, the Special Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes of the State of Nuevo León, Gilberto de Hoyos, highlighted that the agreement will allow his state to receive the experience and knowledge of the OAS in electoral matters. "The main idea of this agreement is due to the conviction of this office to have a more international vision, and to have training in issues of justice and electoral observation," said Special Prosecutor De Hoyos.
