The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Poposki, today said his country shares the principles that guide the Organization of American States (OAS), and announced that his government will offer scholarships to OAS Member States so they can send their young people to study in the universities in the Eastern European country.

“The principles of the OAS that, at the same time are principles of all civilization are the pillars of the state of Macedonia and of our foreign policy,” said the Foreign Minister during his address to the Permanent Council of the OAS, where he affirmed that his country “is committed to be an active member of the international community.”

The Minister said his government would offer “full scholarships for students from OAS Member States to study in the universities of the Republic of Macedonia.”

He went on to highlight the progress his country has made in recent years in “economic freedom” and “transparency,” which in his judgment has served to “earn the trust of foreign investors.”
