The Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Albert Ramdin, officially closed the Youth Forum of the Americas, held within the framework of the Sixth Summit of the Americas which takes place this weekend in Cartagena, Colombia.

The ceremony was the final stage in the Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas, a contest in which more than 36 projects by young people from various parts of the hemisphere took part.

The Assistant Secretary General of the OAS stressed the importance of the event “and of the youth themselves as key actors in the process of the Summit of the Americas, who have met and worked to prepare a final declaration which sets forth the interests and demands of the youth to the member countries of the OAS and in that way creates a dialogue with their governments.”

In conclusion, Albert Ramdin declared: “our hope lies in our young people; you are the present and the future of our countries, and I am convinced that our future is in good hands.”
