The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met today with the Jamaican Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller, during his visit to Kingston.

The Jamaican Prime Minister and the chief representative of the hemispheric organization discussed the current state of the hemisphere, with particular attention to the issues that will be debated at the Summit of the Americas to be held in Cartagena de indias (Colombia) April 14th and 15th, as well as the General Assembly of the OAS, which will take place June 3-5 in Cochabamba (Bolivia).
