The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today received the President of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) of Mexico, Jesús Zambrano Grijalva, in his office in Washington, DC.

During the meeting, the two discussed the upcoming OAS General Assembly, which takes place next week in Asunción, Paraguay, focused on the theme “Development with Social Inclusion.” They also discussed the electoral observation missions of the Organization and the process of review of the mandates of the OAS currently underway, promoted by Secretary General Insulza as “Strategic Vision of the OAS.”

Also taking part in the meeting were Senator Luis Sánchez; Deputy Luis Cházaro, Secretary of the Energy Committee of the Chamber of Deputies; Irán Moreno Santos, Head of International Affairs for the Presidency of the PRD; and Lázaro Cárdenas Batel, PRD leader and former Governor of the State of Michoacán.
