OAS Secretary General Attends Lecture on "Don Quixote"

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, attended today the lecture "Reflections on Don Quixote,” delivered by the Spanish-Costa Rican academician and diplomat, Jorge Sáenz-Carbonell, and co-organized by the Missions of Costa Rica and Spain to the OAS.

During the event, which was held in the Hall of the Americas of the hemispheric institution, the academician made ​​a thorough and detailed analysis of the work written by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, as a critical example of the society of his time that is still relevant in today’s world.

Ambassador Sáenz is the Director of the Diplomatic Institute Manuel María Peralta of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Costa Rica. He is also a member of the Language Academy of Costa Rica and of the Spanish Royal Academy of Language. The Permanent Representative of Costa Rica to the OAS, Ambassador Edgar Ugalde; the Permanent Observer of Spain, Jorge Hevia, and other permanent representatives and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Organization also attended the event.
