Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS Secretary General Meets with the Executive Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Community of Police Intelligence

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met today with the Permanent Executive Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Community of Police Intelligence (CLACIP), Jorge Luis Vargas, at the headquarters of the hemispheric institution in Washington, DC.
Secretary General Insulza and Executive Secretary Vargas agreed on the importance of coordination between the intelligence organs of the region as a fundamental element in combating transnational organized crime. The two leaders also discussed other issues related to hemispheric security, such as the gang problem in Central America.
Moreover, the two talked about the problem of drugs and the work of the CLACIP with the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD); the Eighth CLACIP Summit, which will be held in August in Cartagena, Colombia, and in which the OAS will participate as an observer; and the 82nd Interpol General Assembly, which will be held in the same Colombian city in October and which will be attended by delegations from 196 countries.
