The new Permanent Representative of Chile to the Organization of American States (OAS), Sebastián Kraljevich, today presented his credentials to the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, in a ceremony held at the headquarters of the hemispheric institution in Washington, D.C.
Secretary General Almagro highlighted Ambassador Kraljevich's professional background and his stance in favor of dialogue and cooperation. "Ambassador, you have said that in your previous activity you were dedicated to promoting changes through communication, putting strategic thinking at the service of a project. At the OAS, you will be able to develop these skills to achieve consensus among the member states,” added Secretary General Almagro.
For his part, Ambassador Kraljevich said that his government's priority “will not be those spaces where countries are grouped by ideological affinities, but those that serve to unite us.” “We have the duty to meet and work together for the well-being of our peoples, without the need to deny our particularities or renounce legitimate differences. That is why we are here, because Chile believes in and works through multilateralism,” said the Chilean diplomat.
Ambassador Kraljevich holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Chile and a Master's degree in Political Management from The George Washington University.
