OAS Completes First Phase of Electoral Project in Bolivia

  February 24, 2015

At the request of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, the Organization of American States (OAS) sent a team of international experts in December to analyze and evaluate the procedures of creation, review and updating of the electoral roll. Once the first phase was completed, which consisted of compiling firsthand information and holding interviews with electoral officials, the technicians deployed by the OAS returned to the headquarters of the Organization.

In the second phase, the experts will examine and systematize the information gathered to produce recommendations that will contribute to improving the voter list. This project joins the many efforts of the Department of Electoral Cooperation and Observation of the OAS to strengthen electoral institutions and processes in the region.
