OAS Roundtable to Debate “The Effectiveness of the Inter-American Democratic Charter”

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Americas Program of the Carter Center will organize, on Friday October 28, a Roundtable to commemorate 15 years of the Inter-American Charter, in which experts and authorities will analyze the impact and history of this Inter-American agreement.

The event will be opened by the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, and will include the participation of:


- Jennie K. Lincoln, Director of the Americas Program of the Carter Center
- Eduardo Stein, Former Vice President of Guatemala and Member of the Friends of the Inter-American Democratic Charter
- Cynthia McClintock, Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at George Washington University
- Jean Michel Arrighi, OAS Secretary for Legal Affairs


The event will take place in the General Secretariat Building of the OAS in Washington DC (1889 F Street NW, Washington DC 20006)

The Roundtable will be broadcast live on the OAS Website.
