DRUG CONTROL COMMISSION OPENS SESSION

Anti-drug policymakers from around the Americas will convene at the headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS) for three days this week, for the 36th Regular Session of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD).

The inaugural session, which will be open to the press, begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Speakers will include the Acting Secretary General of the OAS, Luigi R. Einaudi, and CICAD Chairman Paul Kennedy, Canada’s Senior Assistant Deputy Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness. Delegates will also be introduced to the CICAD’s new Executive Secretary, James F. Mack.
