The OAS and the Ministry of Health of Peru organize Ministerial Conference on the impacts of forced displacement

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Ministry of Health of Peru, with the support of the Government of the United States, will hold on April 29 and 30 in Lima, Peru the Conference "Enhancing Regional Coordination in Response to the Impacts of Forced Displacement", which will bring together senior government officials from OAS member states, international organizations and experts to coordinate actions to alleviate the plight of displaced populations, and the impacts upon the communities that host them.

The conference will include two sessions, one of strategic planning for subject experts in the field and decision makers to outline recommendations for action.

On the second day of the conference, the health ministers and other authorities will discuss the resilience of health systems, public health and social services systems.

The opening ceremony of the second day of the conference will be open to the press. There will also be opportunity for a group photo of the ministers. The rest of the event is closed to the press.
